It's a sweet wine prepared in the delimited region
with center at Azeitão.
This
wine is graduated between 18º and 20º.The colour goes from
clear to burnt topaz and by aging it gets an unmistakable
perfume.
The
producers have known to keep the region's tradicion, by adding
new products. The firm J. Maria da Fonseca has kept the quality
of the Moscatel and they have a very famous red wine for over
a hundred years: the Periquita. The Pasmados and the Quinta
de Camarote are two other very good wines. Very successful
wine brands come from this region, such as João Pires, Quinta
da Bacalhoa and the Tinto da Ânfora, being the most part of
the region's wines included in the regional wines "Terras
do Sado".
